terms of use

Short, and in plain language, because there is not much to say about a service that cannot read your files.

  1. no warranty

    nulldrop.cc is provided as-is, with no guarantee of availability, durability or fitness for any purpose. Do not use it as your only copy of anything. Drops are destroyed after 6 hours and there are no backups.

  2. acceptable use

    Do not use this service for anything illegal where you are, and do not use it to distribute malware or material that harms other people. Automated abuse, scraping and attempts to exhaust storage are blocked by rate limits.

  3. what we can act on

    Because uploads are encrypted before they reach us, we cannot inspect, scan, moderate or hand over content — we only hold ciphertext. What we can do is delete a drop by its id and rate-limit or block a source of abuse.

  4. what we log

    Ordinary web server telemetry: timestamps, coarse request metadata and IP-derived counters used only for rate limiting. No accounts, no tracking profile, no third-party advertising.

  5. limits

    Anonymous drops are capped at 2 GB of plaintext. A larger ceiling can be unlocked with an upload key issued by the operator. Limits exist to keep the service usable for everyone and may change.

  6. your responsibility

    You control who receives a link, and a link is the only credential. After creating a drop, the service also offers a QR code for the link. If you share it in a public channel, the drop is public. Revoke a link when you are done with it.
